The Associate (1996) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

Laurel Ayres is a skilled and intelligent financial analyst. Unfortunately, she's a woman. Though it's the 1990's, sexism is still there, and after failing a should-be given promotion, she realizes that she will never do as good as her male counterparts. So, what does she do? She creates "Robert S. Cutty" and starts her own firm, letting her imaginary co-worker take all the credit. As she continues to deceive, however, some people begin to become suspicious.
