The Matrix (1999) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

There are two realities: the real world, and the dream world. How can you tell which one is which?

Neo is a hardcore hacker who is seeking the truth about The Matrix, and the mysterious figure called Morpheus. All he has is names; he doesn't know what they are, what they are about, or where to find them. And then, one day, he gets a message from an equally mysterious woman named Trinity, who offers him a chance to learn the truth.

Neo meets Morpheus and for the first time is presented with a chance to learn what The Matrix is, but the only way for him to really understand is to see it. And Morpheus tells Neo that what he is about to see will be with him forever, and will change his life. Neo accepts, and is immediately drawn into a world unlike anything he had ever seen: the real world.

Now, Neo, living with the truth, must decide whether to fight for reality or live in a safer falsehood. He can only choose one, and that choice may kill him.
