Country Strong (2010) - Movie Trailers

I looked forward to the DVD release of "Country Strong," and I was not disappointed. It is not a masterpiece, but it is solid and I enjoyed it. I give a Gwyneth Paltrow an "A" for her acting--she convincingly portrayed with a combination of vulnerability and passion a fragile country star who is barely holding herself together. The rest of the cast was solid as well. I would rate their acting performances anywhere from B+ to A-. Storyline could have been cliche, but it had enough humanity and twists to hold my interest, although a little richer plot development would have helped. However, I give the brain-dead movie critics a solid "F" for dissing this film. It certainly did nothing to merit these attacks. Sure, it is no Walk the Line, but Walk the line is a great movie and, despite Jeff Bridge's great performance in Crazy Heart, I would say I enjoyed Country Strong at least as much as Crazy Heart.

Thought the movie was pretty good. It wasn't anything special, but I enjoyed it. The couple things that bothered me about this movie was the unresolved stuff with the bird and what i thought was an unnecessary ending that made no sense.

I'm glad that you gave this movie a fair grade. I think reviewers have been harsher to this movie than it really deserves.

P.S. Hedlund was GREAT in this.
