August 5, 2010Not being a huge Eclipse fan like the rest of the country, I was skeptical of Kristen Stewart's ability to portray such a gritty role. However, she absolutely nailed the wild rocker Joan Jett! Sweet Dakota Fanning gets a big thumbs up too playing the not so sweet role of the very precosious Cherie Currie. This all girl band literally started the field for women in rock and roll. Dealing with a slimy, crooked, agent and on the road when they were as young as 14, the band grew up together touring the country and later Japan. Wonderful movie, especially if u were or are a fan of Joan Jett or even Lita Ford who also had a solo career after the bands breakup. Gritty, adult portrayals by girls who were just playing with dolls a few years ago.
A-Plus in my book! Strong sexual content and language so not one to watch with the kiddies!
