I am excited about the movie but also feel like it is going to take away from the imagination and the excitement of discovery from the reader. I read this book with my bilingual students and they have a great time discovering things out that they never have heard of before.
"Winn Dixie" even to me as an adult from Midwest
is foreign, and it takes some dreaming to figure out what the store looks like and making that connection every time. The movie may take some of those connections away, I hope it doesnt. I really hope its great so that I can have fun showing the movie every year after we read the book.

I played Mr.Dewberry in the two church scenes.Just an extra but got to do some interaction with the Dewberry boys.Should be in a lot of shots.(Please Mr. Wang)The cast and crew were great,especially the kids.The story is great and should become a classic film for years to come.

As a sceptic on books being turned to movies, I really hope that they have done a great job! Anna Sophia seems to be a new comer into acting (if I am correct)and this should help the movie. I am still slightly nervous about this being turned into a movie...

I can't wait til the summer to see this film! The picture of Dave in the pet shop is enough to build my enthusiasm! I've been wanting to see him in Where the Red Fern Grows, but haven't gotten the chance. I'm hoping that this film will bring his acting more mainstream. He's such a brilliant muscian/songwrite/activist, I'm sure he'll add acting to his many talents!
