Witchcraft has always been an infinitive subject in the entertainment industry. Whether book or TV show or movie, directors, writers, and actors have found new ways of expressing witches and warlocks... Some movies are for kids, some are comical, some are romantic, and some are just creepy... The Craft takes a new turn down witchcraft lane and delivers a fun and exciting film about four girls who have fallen victim to magic.

Each of the girls have a troubled past, and this is the substantial base for the whole movie. It sets the groundwork, and the progression of the characters throughout the movie works from this. The character development is well-done, and the acting is strong- all four of the girls are great. Fairuza Balk is the perfect match for an evil witch, and Neve Campbell has always given a strong role. Robin Tunney does a good job as the main character while Rachel True plays the somewhat left out character, the one that doesn't see much on screen time.

The perspective on magic and the special effects in The Craft are about as good as they can be for this kind of movie, and the strange atmosphere that is created around the girls really gives vibrance to the story. However...

There was obviously something about the odd witch in the bookstore, but they never finished developing her character. There was something left unfinished, and just as they are about to reveal it, the movie hurtles away. Also, for a teenage cult flick about a group of girls being able to do whatever they wanted, I would have liked to see a little more sex and violence than there was. The movie was a little too tame, surprisingly.

The Craft is a fun movie to watch but if it had been a little more adult in content, I think it would appeal to more of the age group that it was intended for.

This is a very typical movie about reality towards evil. The evil is pure and harmful and i love it.!
