In this provocative and brutal thriller from director Michael Haneke, a vacationing family gets an unexpected visit from two deeply disturbed young men. Their idyllic holiday turns nightmarish as they are subjected to unimaginable terrors and struggle to stay alive.
Remade from his own acclaimed 1997 film, "Funny Games" is written and directed by Michael Haneke ("Caché"), and stars Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Michael Pitt, Brady Corbet and Devon Gearhart.

June 13, 2008Erik, It is refreshing to see an honest review of this little gem. I have only seen the original, and I did my best to share it with friends. Regardless that it is a remake, either film steps out of bounds and challenges the viewer. It is only suitable that the man who created the vision, would update it for the masses to experience. In this case, the controversy is welcome.

October 7, 2007I have seen Haneke's original Funny Games and there is no way that this storyline will sit well with American audeinces. It is extremely dark and I have a feeling this Americanized remake will be forced to change endings from the original, which will make it more accessible, but much less powerful. Who greenlit this one.
