January 2, 2009This is not for the faint of heart but nevertheless a very moving film. The violence these men do to their bodies is painful to watch. The world The Wrestler captures is grimy, lower class, seedy and realistic. Its a place we hope to remain far from in our own lives. We see Randy the Ram as so very human . He is still a very sensitive soul despite the terrible battering he allows his body. Yes, one can suffer a great deal of physical pain and yet not be immune to rejection , lonliness and fear.
