I Still Love Harry Potter, by HPFan

By , July 8, 2005

My personal oppinon is that they left tooooo much out, and it being cut down to only 150 minutes made my perseption of Alfanso Curon a very bad director for this movie. I feel the movie was not at all loyal to the readers and most fans. Overal the movie was ok.

How can Harry Potter rule when the movie sucked? The people that say this movie is amazing don't know what they're talking about, or they're not to bright to begin with. Have you ever read the books? If you have, how can you say this movie is amazing? It boggles the mind. If you people didn't read the books, the movie might be perceived as okay. But the book is the movie. Without the books, you don't have the movie. Yeah sure, the special effects are okay and the movie is visibly okay, but that is all. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

You don't have to be a "true fan" of a book to like a movie. It was a really good movie.

I have read the book about a million times and i have to say that the movie had many mistakes in it and i am dissapointed! They went from scene to scene without really getting into them properly, which got confusing at times.

Well.
Much has been said, and i must agree the movie SUCKS. I wonder if people who graded it A have actually read the book. Yes, visually the movie is ok, but it does not protrait Azkaban history. My wife has not read the book and got confused, i had to explain the history.... THE MOVIE SUCKS....

They tried hard!!, by Litsa

Hello!I come from Greece. The premiere here is in 8 Septembre! So I cant be a "critical" because I havent seen the third film yet. However I have download some pictures & tailers and I think that special effects are really good and the cast too.Its obvious that if a book is going to be a film it is very difficult because the production, the director and other people who help to make the film are facing many problems such as: the time and the landscapes.Cuaron maybe change the landscapes because he might think that the movie was going to be very boring with the same landscapes. To sum up I think that all people should appreciate the work of Cuaron who he tried hard to make Harry Potter and the POA.Thats all for now

Prisoner of this Movie, by His HiTechness

I can't say that the grade I have given is what I really feel, but watching the film on the big screen was just that, average. Though the director admitted that he wasn't really interested in Harry Potter and knew little about the stories, right there should of been an indiction not to sign him for this beloved movie series. Known for his film, the mexician film, Y Tu Mama Tambien, and I know for certain that his film direction in the third installment upset enough Harry Potter fans to commense a border closing for the duration of the films showings (humor folks). I believed he tried to hard to make a wanabee Tim Burton goth-like film, and semi-succeeded. Like the book, it possessed a very hard-edged somber feeling all the way to the bitter end. Though it didn't follow the book to everybody's exact liking, it would of been nice to explain that Potter's dad was a stag, in one of the scenes you will notice this if you haven't seen the film or if you have. With his art direction, the film is left unimaginative and not memorable to Potter movie fans. The acting sequences is what kept it tolerable for most of the viewing for me. Here is to the British actor/actress crew.
Cheers to that
