Never Been Kissed (1999) - Movie Review

Never Been Kissed, starring Drew Barrymore as a reporter who must face her worst nightmares as she is assigned to be an undercover student in high school, is a funny and relatively heartwarming film.

The only reason I see romance comedies is for the comedy part, so my opinion on whether it was romantic or not is probably not relevant. Never Been Kissed will probably work for a date movie, though. Anyway, the characters and some of the antics are hilarious in this film. I really laughed out loud at some parts.

I also really wanted to slap Drew Barrymore. She does a great job as Josie Gellar but her character is just so damn annoying and dorky. But, considering that that was the point of the story, it only adds to the comedy (although she's even a dork when she's popular).

The best scene was probably the "sex-ed" part where Josie's oversexed friend, played by Molly Shannon, is mistaken for a sex-ed instructor and she has the class put condoms on to bananas.

Never Been Kissed is a great comedy; Drew Barrymore can add this one to her list of accomplishments.

This movie is lonely because people have neglected it and not written kind things about it. Please help this movie feel better about itself and write a comment or review now.
