The Details

She is the matriarch of our family and the glue that holds us together. She is hilarious, opinionated, unpredictable, but never mean spirited. We call her Nana Gladys. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee and married to Floyd, she is "88 and holdin'".

Nana has most recently become known to the rest of the world through Ellen DeGeneres.

When Nana Gladys said "I'll be honest with ya. I love Jesus but I drink a little" it sent Ellen into a sweet fit of uncontrolled laughter! Ellen said "this is my favorite moment of the show so far!" Since then, our Gladys and Ellen have had many phone calls, including movie reviews, recipes, relationship advice, commentaries about TV shows, and responses to Gladys fan mail. Simply put, when Ellen and Gladys have a conversation it is always memorable and funny as all get out!

A longtime resident of Austin, TX, Gladys is also a regular caller to our local radio station KLBJ on the Dudley & Bob show. Her commentaries are
hilarious and earned her the title "Favorite Caller Of The Year". Word of Nana Gladys has spread and her commentaries and phone calls have now been heard across the country. She gets a big kick out of all this excitement, but is quick to point out, "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice."
