The Emmy Award winning series centers around architect Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor; Freaks and Geeks), a hopeless romantic determined to find love in New York City.  This love story in reverse is narrated by an older and off-screen Ted (Bob Saget; "Full House") who tells his children tales of his single days with his best friends, Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel; Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Lilly Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan; "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Date Movie), Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders; "The L Word") and Barney Stinson (Golden GlobeÒ and Emmy nominee** Neil Patrick Harris; "Doogie Howser, M.D.," Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle), all leading up to the still unanswered question of how he "met their mother." 

In this fourth season, Ted loses his job and starts his own company, Barney celebrates his 200th female conquest and Robin moves to Japan, among other unpredictable and hilarious storylines.  Guest stars include Ted's former fiancé (Sarah Chalke; "Scrubs"), Barney's Mother, (Frances Conroy; "Six Feet Under"), Ted's college ex-girlfriend (Laura Prepon; "That 70's Show") and Regis Philbin, as himself.
