Movie Review

It was with great trepidation that I entered the theater that would show me "Sahara." It would've been one of the most anticipated movies of the year for me, since "Sahara" is one of the first of many books I read and loved from bestselling author Clive Cussler. Yet, anticipation turned to fear as word of Cussler suing to halt production leaked into the rumor mill last year and the movie was repeatedly pushed back from summer to fall and eventually to this spring. Then, fear turned to horror as the marketing campaign emerged, revealing a cheesy-looking action movie in the trailers and absolute stupidity in the poster. If they can't even make a cool poster, what's that got to say about the movie itself? Full movie review »

An escapist movie in the style of Indiana Jones. Matthew McConaghey (spelling?) was an
impressive leading actor. The action film scenes were impressive in any dimension. Overall,
an awesome production with a major fun factor.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the film. It was fun, fun and fun. Two hours of non-stop
action .... highly enjoyable.

Sure, this movie is not a reality item. It’s a piece of pure fantasy. Not to be taken seriously by
the paying customer. But, hell, it is Fun. And well worth the PPV charges.

Fab escapist movie - just needed bit more history in it to capture the imagination more......

The Hunton Gazelle is a crackin boat, that is a great british sports boat - 50 knots of pure but refined power .....

however, did you know the Civil War battleship in the moview was powered through the lake by 10 Honda outboards!

The boat used in the movie is Hunton Gazelle 43 with some cosmetic modifications.

I thought the power boat scenes were nice. Anybody knows what boat was that?

No HTML. Be kind - your mom might read what you say.
