Movie Review

From the author that gave you The Shining and several other top picks and the director that gave us the intriguing The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil is a compelling tale of a boy who is driven near the edge by his own mistakes. Brad Renfro stars as Todd, a stupid (but inteligent) kid who blackmails a Nazi war criminal (McKellen) but ends up getting blackmailed himself. Full movie review »

I really like the movie, I was disappointed that it was not at all like the novella. I think that it would have been better if the end was like the scene in the book, it could have been a little more believable. There is no way the FBI nor that school teacher from Munich just walked away. There is no way the guidance counselor, just walked away because he was going to be accused of being a child molester. Still I think that it was a good watch, the stupid child did not know what he was getting himself into.
