Movie Review
The summer season begins. For some, that is good news, and for others, it is a sign to stay away from theaters until October. Van Helsing is almost entertaining enough to satisfy the former group. Almost. Full movie review »

May 17, 2004I saw this movie 4 times already and it has only been out for a week! I loved it and i plan to see it yet again. The plot was good, the characters, while a little overdone, were brilliant. I liked the CGI even though it was heavy, it had to be due to the type of plot and characters. Overall i loved this movie and I think that Beckinsale, Jackman, and Roxburgh (my fav) did a great job!!!!!!!! i recommend anyone and everyone to see it!!!!!

May 17, 2004So last night, me and a friend went to go see this movie, we were like "sweet this movie looks awesome!" yeah no it wasnt. First off the whole movie relies on cheesy computer graphics WAY TOO MUCH!! We start the story off in black and white and it is okay for a little bit but Frankenstein sounds like a really gay opera singer. Then we are thrown into Van Helsing trying to get Mr.Hyde, which was a really quite stupid little bit(come to think of it this movie is a bit like LXG, just a little, oh wait, a LOT worse) and then we are introduced to kate beckinsale's character, wow she's a babe, but she is ultra cheesy throught the entire movie. This movie is so cheesy every five minutes everyone was laughing at something(WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BIG ACTION SCENE!) this movie had so MUCH potential but in the end fails and is a huge dissapointment, oh yeah before i forget what the F#@* was up with the lesbian dracula wife women, they were so retarded! I mean seriously they got so annoying. Luckily i got to get in for free for this movie so i didnt waist any money on this piece of crap, skip it, and save your money.

May 17, 2004Overall, Van Hellsing was a fun and entertaining movie. Contrary to some people here, I think Hugh Jackman played his character well. The wives of Dracula were a little over the top, making most of the scenes they were in corny. The character who played Dracula was weak, over-dramatic and it was hard to seem him as some all powerful evil being. Kate Beckinsale gives a horrible performance, she was much better in "Underworld". Van Hellsing's companion, Carl, is horrible and needed to have just a little bit more in his voice for me to like. I really liked Frankenstein, but thought he was a bit cheesy and over-done at the same time. I also think Van Hellsing's past should have been explained a little bit more. It is revealed that he is the "Left hand of God," but nothing about his past is fully expanded upon. There could have been a great conflict between Dracula and Van Hellsing had their relationship been fully explained.
