Movie Review
I'll give the creators of "Bewitched" props for trying to go outside the box and do something other than your standard television show adaptation. After all, this movie isn't about a remake of Darren and Samantha the witch - it is about a bad remake of a television show and the casting of one beautiful person who just happens to be a real witch. The movie does a great job of making fun of the horrible trend of remaking everything that ever made a dime - at least for the first half hour. Then it crumbles in on itself as it becomes a non-funny romantic comedy... Full movie review »

July 16, 2004Iknow you have done most of the casting for the movie but just in case, Betty white for aunt Clara ,Nathan lane for Uncle Arthur and Carol Burnett and Tim Conway as the Kravitzs and Ellen Degeneress as Esmerelda. Maybe Jean Smart or Christine Baranski as Louise Tate with Dabney Coleman or John Larroguette as LarryII think Christopher Lloyd would be good as Dr,Bombay and the original dr as Mr Stevens along with the other Louise as Mrs Stevens Good luk with the movie looking forward to it Thanx

July 5, 2004In Nora Ephron to pull this off- Like all of the casting EXCEPT Nicole Kidman and Will Farrell- the world needs another NK movie like I need to gain 50 lbs(somewhere in NY Ira "Stepford Wives" Levin is rolling in his grave)- Nathan Lane might be interesting as Uncle Arthur , so might Jim Carrey-I heard that Joan Plowright(widow to Sir Lawrence Olivier as well as accomplished actress herself) is to be in the cast. Anybody know as who?

June 18, 2004In this re-imagining of the magical 1960s sitcom, Will Ferrell plays Jack Wyatt, a difficult Hollywood star who tries to have a career comeback by playing Darrin Stephens in a big-screen version of the classic TV series. When Jack sees the beautiful Isabel Bigelow, played by Nicole Kidman, he thinks that she'd be right for the part of his on-screen wife, Samantha. What he doesn't know is that Isabel really is a witch, which actually makes her a perfect casting choice for the role. Isabel's father Nigel (Michael Caine) is concerned by his daughter's interest in the mortal world, until he's distracted by Iris Smythson (Shirley MacLaine), the movie star who'll be playing Samantha's mother Endora in the film.

May 19, 2004Will Ferrell is a VERY poor choice for Darren. An idea I had, which would be awesome! is to use George Clooney for the first half of the movie, then change to Jim Carrey for the second half, with no explanation as to the change. An homage to the Darrin change in the series.
As for Shirley Maclaine, that's perfect to play Endora. The only person I can see playing Uncle Arthur is Nathan Lane. Perhaps get an olsen twin to play a teenage Tabitha.
