Movie Review
Grade: C+
"North Country" explores the first class action sexual harassment case filed in the United States, and while it has fine acting and a compelling story, two minutes on Google can show you that absolutely nothing in the movie has any resemblance to what happened in real life. Is the C+ on the review of North Country for the movie or for the Review? I am inclined to think the Review, since it repeats the same point two or three times and reads like, well, a freshman paper that got a C+. Not that I am any Hemingway myself, but at least write a second draft, and make it more polished, mate!
Still, the review makes several valid points, and I cannot disagree with any of them. I wish all that acting talent and a potentially powerful story had not been reduced to a cliche. Lately, I am beginning to think the whole movie industry needs to be taken into the shop for a tune-up, if not a major overhaul. There's a lot of talent out there that is getting wasted on some half-assed film making. There's no excuse!
