Fear the date - 6/6/06 - when "The Omen 666 opens in theaters nationwide. A remake of the 1976 horror classic, the new film takes the tale of the coming of the antichrist - personified as a young boy named Damien - to an even more thrilling and visceral level. Read more

Movie Review

Grade: C 2006 marked yet another year for horror remakes, and that included a remake of 1976's classic The Omen, which starred Gregory Peck. Creepy children, especially creepy devil children, are always quite popular among moviegoers, and so it is a sensible remake - except for the fact that everything that possibly can be done with creepy devil children has been done before, and to better results.

I'm sick of crappy remakes and sequels, by Matthew

July 31, 2006

Soo...What to be said about this worthless remake...I have a high tolerance for horror movies, but I know when something is scary (even if I myself am not scared) and this movie had nothing to be scared about...The atmosophere worked, but do we really need a classic such as this remade into the same exact movie just present day? I mean, it didn't work for pyscho did it? NO, it didn't work there, and it doesn't work here...They could have spiced it up, or changed something, but as I have already seen the original, I felt like I was sitting and watching the original again (but with not as great of actors...come on, gregory peck for goodness sakes!). I guess it doesn't help that I wasn't such a fan of the first one...Hollywood needs to step away from remaking crap and making good pyschological thrillers. Something that hasn't already been done...

*but thats too hard* <--Hollywood
