December 7, 2007You make a good point Gaspasser, but forgot to mention how terrible this movie is overall. It is really a horrible movie. I am unsure why Jessica Alba took this role. She is the only plus for this movie!

November 23, 2007This movie is meant to scare people. Unfortunately, this movie may do for surgical patients what Jaws did for swimmers. The incidence of anesthetic recall is estimated at 0.1%. Anesthetic providers, whether it be an MD or CRNA have lots of ways to tell if a patient is aware under anesthesia. Routine procedures have an even lower incidence of recall. In situations where a patient may be aware is in situations of trauma surgery or extreme hemodynamic instability. Not to be confused with light sedation anesthesia in which numbing medicine is instilled and a sedation drip is given intravenousley. Please do not be in heightened awareness, the incidence of recall has steadily been improved with safer monitors, more selective drugs, etc.

November 18, 2007Awake while you are being operated on. How frightening. I thought there were devices to determine if you are asleep during an anesthetic! They should use them for cases like this!
