Movie Review
What do you think of when you think of female gymnasts? Tiny, nearly midget-like creatures who spend all their lives practicing for one or perhaps two chances at the Olympics? Yeah, that's what I think, too. Full movie review »

May 16, 2006I think that this movie did quite well. Being a gymnast for what is going on eight years, you can see how one might be skeptical. This was my sport. People had soccer or basketball or football. But no... i had gymnastics. I was so worried that this movie would trash the meaning of the sport.I read the summary here on movie source after hearing about it by my coach, so i checked it out.The more i found out, I slowly became interested. Some of the details are a little unreal (such as a headspin on a 4 inch wide beam, and a roundoff doubleback simply thrown to show up a team member...get real, that is not how the sport-the mind-or the even the laws of gravity really work.) But the movie has a strong plot, with very few slow parts, and gets you laughing the whole way through. If you want to see a funny movie on the weekend, I say go see it. The thing i love most about this movie is that it does capture the real world of gymastics.(even if dipping slightly into the more "only in the movies" stunts just a little, as i mentioned before.)It shows how much strength and dedication it takes to do gymnastics and also sheds light on the difficulty of scoring and how the judging can be a little unfair, proving that it's not called gym-"nice"-tics. I was hoping Jessica Bedinger would have brought the movie to a big finnish-but i was left slightly dissapointed. All and all I say this movie is worth seeing. Its funny-fast paced- and if anything, a wonderful tribute to gymnastics.

May 14, 2006I was a gymnast for 11 years, and was very dedicated to the sport. I quit a few years ago due to a serious injury. It was my life, I loved it. When I saw the previews of this movie, I knew I would have to see it. The movie was absolutly amazing. Not only was it funny, but it was also very accurate. I also loved how when I watched it, it reminded me of my years in gymnastics, and made me miss it even more. A movie that can bring about such feelings, and pump them up as this one did, is a terrific movie. I thought the movie was better than Bring it On personally. I don't see how anyone could consider a movie about a bunch of girls running around in half tops, and competing against eachother and stealing their choreography can be better then a movie where in the end, everyone works together, and unites to fix things. I loved the movie.

April 30, 2006I felt that this film was really good. The writer of "Bring It On" is the one who wrote this and i really feel that she knows what it takes to get some cash in pocket from teens. Good movie? Yes! Better than "Bring It On" No!
