Movie Review
Grade: C-
I'm only part way through El Cantante, but I don't know if I can make it to the end. It's not that the movie is dreadful; it's just that we've seen this type of story so many times before. And by "so many times before", I mean so, so, so, so, so many times before.

Movie Review, by Nuyorican in Miami

Hector Lavoe was a legend and along with being a legend comes all the baggage that one carries. The movie provides an insight into the legend's life, with the ups and mostly downs of his personal life and career. Great soundtrack. Loved J Lo's performance as a strong Puertorican woman. Marc brought forth Hector's spirit.
