November 30, 2003To the editor, apparently you did not play in a marching band, otherwise you would know that practice is held several weeks prior to school opening again. As one former music player in a marching band in the south,I can remember practicing 4 weeks prior to the first day of school in 85+ degree weather for 3 hours a day just to get the steps correct. Of course that is why our school was the "Pride of the Southland"
