The sports genre takes on a new form in Drumline, as competitive band-playing takes center stage. Nick Cannon and Orlando Jones star in this shaky yet ultimately entertaining teen drama that suffers from cliché after cliché but benefits from some truly impressive musical numbers. To the editor, apparently you did not play in a marching band, otherwise you would know that practice is held several weeks prior to school opening again. As one former music player in a marching band in the south,I can remember practicing 4 weeks prior to the first day of school in 85+ degree weather for 3 hours a day just to get the steps correct. Of course that is why our school was the "Pride of the Southland"
