Movie Review

Odder things have happened, but it is a mystery as to why Dimension Films decided to release Equilibrium in limited theaters with very little marketing. After all, it is one of the best action movies in years. Full movie review »

It's not often you find a limited release action movie that actually rocks. This is one them. I have to say the first shoot em up scene had me prematurely demoting this movie but the story grows quickly and the action fight scenes attain a level in some ways even better than Matrix. This movie also has some real human emotion unlike the rather cold Matrix. Check it out and you won't be disappointed.

This is one action movie that I enjoyed thoroughly. Although it can be a bit slow in places it certainly makes up for it with it's stark, dystopian style. In my opinion I think this a superior film to that of The Matrix; not in scale, perhaps, but in depth. A true underdog.

Although the plot felt alot like "Farenheit 451" were the main character works as a fireman in the future. Here the firemen in the futur does not put out fire. They burn books believing that books ruins peoples happy life by manipulating their minds. A little more action in this story though. A good movie.
