The 19 Movies You Have to Watch this Fall

Summer is over, fall is here. Here are 19 movies—ranging from silly comedies to serious dramas (and everything in between)—that you have to see before the fall is over. For the sake of simplicity, we consider the fall movie season to be September 1 through Thanksgiving.

19. Annabelle – October 3

This prequel to The Conjuring focuses on that creepy, possessed doll that is, to this day, allegedly stored in a glass box to keep the evil contained within.

18. The Judge – October 10

Robert Downey Jr. plays an asshole/criminal defense attorney who is forced to sacrifice his ego to save his father—who he hasn’t spoken to in years—from a first-degree murder charge.

17. Space Station 76 – September 19

This Patrick Wilson/Liv Tyler-starring sci-fi drama depicts a space station as if it were made in the 1970s, but it’s the quirky characters that bring this oddly alluring film to life.

16. Big Hero 6 – November 7

How few good animated movies have been released this year? Walt Disney Pictures’ Big Hero 6 is about a robotics prodigy named Hiro (get it?) who teams with his robot companion Baymax to save their city from annihilation.
