The Irishman, Parasite Lead Seattle Film Critic Award Nominees

Sure, the Golden Globes were announced today, but who cares? The more important announcement came from the Seattle Film Critics Society in the form of their 2019 award nominations.

(I’m a member and voted in the awards, hence these are the closest to being the most accurate recognition of film on the history of the planet, skewed only by the nearly-as-good opinions of my colleagues)

The headline: Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman made up for its epic runtime with a whopping 10 nominations, with frontrunner Parasite just behind with nine. Both were nominated for Best Picture.

You can scroll down to see the full list of nominees. The winners will be announced on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 9am PT, via the group’s Twitter account @seattlecritics.
