The Crew Movie Review
(Review by Nathan Samdahl)
The Crew is a slightly funny but mostly boring movie . The movie lacked plot as four ex hit men try to pay their rent by whacking a dead guy and in effect get themselves involved with a drug lord. The plot involves a sub plot which becomes the most boring part of the movie as Richard Dreyfuss attempts to find his long lost daughter. The whole movie lacks suspense and comedy.
Personally I don't get thrilled by watching four old timers sit around watching women walk by in front of their Miami apartment and it disgusts me when watching an old man get involved with a very annoying stripper.
The characters were underdeveloped and were mostly unlikable. At points in the movie you sometimes just want to strangle these guys either from the boredom or just for doing something dumb like burning down the wrong person's house.
Richard Dreyfuss and Burt Reynolds are senile and get old after about five minutes, no pun intended. Seymour Cassel just pisses you off for being dumb and Carrie Anne Moss doesn't have much of a roll at all. Jennifer Tilly, the stripper, just walks around showing off her breasts and attempting to kill her step mom. Her step mom is unreal and actually becomes friends with the crew that tries to kill her. Jeremy Piven follows around Moss and blabs and blabs about how they should get back together. The drug lord lord and his men are stupid as they overact in an attempt to be done.
This movie is very normal and just about makes you fall asleep. I was happy this movie was only a hour and a half because by the end I was holding onto my chair to make sure I wouldn't walk out early. Wait until video or better yet save your money and go see a better movie.
