Capsule Review: Rosamund Pike in this overlooked gem of a film, in which she plays the obsessive war correspondent Marie Colvin. Colvin travels from one ravaged part of the world to the next, risking her life on a daily basis to tell stories no one else is telling. A Private War flopped in theaters—most people don’t even know it exists—but Pike gives one of the best performances of 2018 and the movie itself is a solid piece of filmmaking, a biopic that’s actually interesting, a story deserving of history.
