A recently widowed man realizes that everything that he has come to expect from life is fading away, including his relationship with his daughter. He travels to Denver in a Winnebago to attend his daughter's wedding; she's getting married to a waterbed salesman, whom he does not especially approve of.

Once again, Jack Nicholson is receiving rave reviews, many critics calling for an Oscar nomination. He may very well get one for "About Schmidt."
