An adaptation of William Faulkner's 1930 novel, widely acknowledged as one of the defining works of American literature, is famous in part for its unique stylization wherein the first person narration shifts between more than a dozen different characters, each offering their stream of consciousness views on the story, which follows the Bundren family as they attempt to honor Addie Bundren's (Grant) wishes of being buried in her hometown.
