Marcus Burnett, a happily married man with children and Mike Lowrey, a ladies' man, are police partners. To be more specific, they are Miami narcotic cops.

When a large amount of heroin is stolen from their very own police station, Mike and Marcus' Captain gives them exactly 72 hours to reclaim the drugs. Mike Lowrey quickly recruits the help of a friend and hooker to hint him on anything suspicious. Coincidentally, she is called to a penthouse where the dealer is located, only to be shot a few minutes later.

Julie Mott, a friend of hers, witnesses the entire thing and barely escaped alive from the drug dealers. While Mike is out investigating, Julie calls the police department and demands to talk to him. Afraid that they may not get her cooperation, Marcus is forced to impersonate his best friend. Still frightened that she may change her mind, Marcus continues to act as Mike and so Mike begins to act like Marcus.

When Julie and Marcus' wife, however, figure out what's going on, Julie throws a tantrum and runs away. The drug dealers, which were already on her trail, take advantage of the situation and kidnap her. Marcus and Mike aren't far behind but now they have a bigger problem: they must reclaim the drugs and save their witness. And, when they finally encounter the drug dealer and his henchmen, the odds are against Marcus and Mike.

MOVIE REVIEW

Bad Boys is a fun movie. Will Smith (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) and Martin Lawrence (Martin), two funny boys, and Téa Leoni (Deep Impact), beautiful and talented, make up a great combo (in fact, they are making a sequel). There's a lot of good jokes and a lot of good action, though not as much so as the Lethal Weapon movies. The reason I compare Bad Boys to Lethal Weapon is simple; it appears to be an attempted copy of it. Both have partners that complain to each other the whole way through and go against the rules, both have lots of jokes, and both have a lot of destruction. But, in all those cases, Lethal Weapon comes up on top. It's not that Bad Boys isn't good, it is, it's just that they tried to hard to play off another movie's success. Nevertheless, Bad Boys still delivers, and it delivers good.
