Goldeneye Movie Synopsis & Plot

The Cold War is over. The Russians are no longer enemies but the tension is still there. Political powers have changed but the lust for global domination forever. And deadly weapons are no longer used merely to kill but to cover up vast conspiracies of greed and money. And in present day, even the most honorable of men can be paid off to the highest bidder to do nasty work. But, as long as James Bond is around, there's somebody who can stop them.

It starts out in a Russian military base which is the target for Agents 007 and 006. 006 is quickly laid to rest by the Russian agents but 007 manages to escape, only to be forced into a new mission right away. Following the disappearance of a new, prototype helicopter, a section, containing a high-security communications complex, is struck by an electromagnetic pulse, destroying anything that is mechanic. Bond sets out to find the one survivor of the attack and find the killers of her co-workers.

At the same time, the killers are looking for her. She is the one person who can reveal their plans to the rest of the world, the one person who can identify them, the one person who can stop them. They will go to any length to silence her. Nevertheless, Britain's top secret agent won't let a beautiful woman slip through his fingers, at any cost, nor will he let the conspirators destroy a target to cover up their dark secrets: London.

MOVIE REVIEW

James Bond has had a lot of faces over the year and Pierce Brosnan is the newest to take the role of Britain's top Secret Agent. Timothy Dalton was the previous Bond... he only lasted two movies for some reason or another. Both The Living Daylights and License to Kill were good movies, but there was something about them that just didn't work. Goldeneye hopes to rectify the James Bond series, and United Artists didn't restrain in allowing it to accomplish its task.
