Heat Movie Synopsis & Plot
Neil McCauley is a master thief who has spent a few too many years in jail. A hardened criminal, he is determined never again to return to prison. But when he and his colleagues kill three police officers during a heist, street-smart police Detective Vincent Hanna starts looking for them. He goes to the typical places where he gets lead and soon gets some names and some places.
Meanwhile, Neil has agreed to do a $12 million bank robbery and his friends, Chris Shiherlis, Michael Cheritto and Nate, are eager to do it. But Hanna has tracked them down and he has surveillance on them constantly. He can see where they go and hear what they say. But Neil knows that he is being followed; the heat is on.
Neil and his crew head towards the biggest heist of their lives with Hanna right on their tails, and in the end, only one man will come out standing.
MOVIE REVIEW
Contrary to what the summary says, Heat is not a typical action movie between the good and bad guys. There are no clear lines between right and wrong, only fuzzy ones that sway from side to side. Robert DeNiro Neil McCauley, a deadly thief who does not like the police. While he's a bad ass, he also has compassion, and this is shown through his relationship with his innocent girlfriend, Eady. Al Pacino, on the other hand, is Detective Vincent Hanna, and while he is obviously the protagonist of the story, he can be a bad ass at times.Read our Heat movie review »
