1890. A Pony Express courier travels to Saudi Arabia to compete with his horse Hidalgo in a dangerous but rewarding race that spans 3,000 miles of the Arabian Desert. Based on a true story, Frank T. Hopkins was the first foreigner invited to compete in the race - his horse being the first mustang - as he was known to be the best rider in the United States.

MOVIE REVIEW

Viggo Mortensen, fresh of what will undoubtedly be the best three years of his career, goes from king to cowboy in Hidalgo, an adventure-drama that seems like a throwback to another generation. That isn't necessarily a good thing.
