A city cop investigating a murder in a small town accidentally shoots his own partner, but is given the chance to get away with it, so he goes for it. But, of course, nothing goes as planned. While the murder investigation continues, a local police detective starts investigating the death of the other police officer, the city cop becomes the victim of blackmail, and he also has to deal with his own guilt.
