The Hunchback of Notre Dame Movie Synopsis & Plot
He lives high above the people of Paris, yearning to join them in their celebrations. Alas he cannot; his master forbids it. Instead, he remains in the walls of Notre Dame cathedral as the bell ringer. Twenty years ago, Judge Claude Frollo slaid a fleeing mother and found her son to be a hideous creature with deformed features. But, because of his sins, the priest forced Frollo to let the boy live and allowed him to stay within Notre Dame. Now, a big pageant, the "Feast of Fools" lures the bell ringer, Quasimodo, down to street level where he meets the mysterious but beautiful Esmerelda. Immediately attracted to her, he is pulled into a dangerous adventure as Frollo accuses her of witchcraft. Quasi, raised both to be kind to all and loyal to his master, must decide between the dazzling gypsy and his cold "father."
MOVIE REVIEW
Disney's animated movies have alternated between extraordinary masterpieces and pitiful failures. Lately, they have accomplished two magnificent feats, Aladdin and The Lion King, both providing superior graphics, animation, and enjoyment. Next came Pocahontas, which, by all means, was a failure, mainly because it lacked the certain aspects required to make a hit. Graphics, music, and screenplay are all essential in a Disney movie and Pocahontas didn't excel in any of these.Read our Hunchback of Notre Dame, The movie review »
