A nerdy guy with low self-esteem begins a relationship with an energetic graduate student who helps make him more handsome and confident, but that opens the eyes of his best friend's fiancee, who has liked him for many years.

The Shape of Things explores an interesting love triangle and boasts a superb ending that gives an original flare to the romance genre.
