Movie Review
Russell Crowe tries to use the star power garnered in Gladiator to lead his hostage film Proof of Life to victory, with the help of Meg Ryan. The movie isn't doing well in theaters, but the question is: 'Is that because of the movie or because of the God-awful title?' Full movie review »

September 5, 2005I saw this movie not so long ago, maybe a few weeks ago while i was on holiday in France (movie in English though luckily, can't speak a word of Frence!).
I thought it was quite a good movie, though not the best. Russell Crowe and Meg Ryan are brill actors (& actressess!) I liked the whole story line, and the way it was set out - very good.
When i search my mind, i can't really think of anything that was specificly wrong with it; it was more a sort of air around it. Also, like Movie-Source states, the title is so wrong for the movie. Yes, i know, the first scenes are all about 'Proof of Life' but it still doesn't suit.
The only 'romance' that went on, was very slight, so slight infact, that you could hardly call it romance. It was more 'pressure-of-kidnapping-and-being-forced-together-when-everyone-thought-peter-dead. Long name, but more to the point.
The fighting scence at the end, was good, but went rather quickly. The Scott guy was a tinsy winsy bit funny.
Okay movie, more of a Girly_Night movie, or a 'Haven't-seen-this-lets-stick-it-on' or even a 'Seen-before-not-brill-but-its-a-last-resort'
I give this movie a grade of B-.
