In Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece, Vin Diesel plays a strong but emotional soldier who unfortunately ends up on the wrong end of a German sniper’s sights. Though his part isn’t huge (the reason why Saving Private Ryan didn’t rank higher on this list), Diesel proves he has the acting chops to perform in serious films – and delivers one of the film’s more tense and emotional death sequences.
