The Negotiator Movie Synopsis & Plot
A partner murdered. Two million dollars embezzled. A lifetime in prison. These are the charges surrounding Chicago Police Negotiator Danny Roman. None of them he did, none of the evidence points to anybody else. False checks, weapon availability, motive... they are all there, all pointing at him.
Danny knows someone is framing him. He doesn't know who but he knows they are surrounding him... perhaps they are his friends, his co-workers. There's an informant, but he doesn't have his name, and there are several guilty of the crime. All of them are willing to kill for it.
In one futile moment, Danny sets his life. Facing life imprisonment, he takes control of the 20th floor of the Internal Affair's division. In it is one man who knows the truth, someone involved in the crime. Another is a fellow officer, a longtime friend who is no longer two friendly. And two more caught in between, two innocents in the deadly fiasco.
And down below is Chris Sabian, a negotiator equally talented in handling the most difficult cases. He knows that Danny knows every trick in the book... the cameras, the persuasions, everything. But what he doesn't know is that some of the police officers he's working with are out to kill Danny, not for the sake of the hostages, but for the sake of themselves. Someone wants Danny dead because he knows too much.
MOVIE REVIEW
Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey are both excellent actors, and when two excellent actors are in one movie, something almost certainly has to come of it. Something positive is derived from The Negotiator, a fast-paced and gripping thriller.Read our Negotiator, The movie review »
