The Newton Boys Movie Synopsis & Plot
From 1919 to 1924, the Newton Boys robbed over eighty banks from Texas to Canada. They also pulled off the greatest train heist ever, which also happened to be their last robbery, the sum rising above three million dollars. This is the true story of their lives.
Willis was the first to introduce them to bank robbery, and, while the others were reluctant at first, soon found it a prosperous and exciting line of business. The Newton Boys saw themselves as every day businessmen, no worse than lawyers or bankers, whole stole just the same. They never harmed or shot anyone, and they never intended to kill anyone. All they wanted was the money and from over 80 bank heists, they made plenty. But the Newton Boys' greed led to their downfall... they decided to rob a federal cargo train carrying three million dollars... They might have gotten away with it if a near-tragic accident hadn't caused them to leave a blood trail.
MOVIE REVIEW
Over the years, there have been a lot of western movies, some about cowboys, some about gunfighters, and some about bank robbers. Usually, the main character is some always-good kind of guy who takes on some bad guys dressed in black outside a saloon. The Newton Boys is not on of these movies. In fact, it can't even really be considered an old western, since it takes place in the 1920's, and it is based on a true story. The Newton Boys is about a family of bank robbers who... rob banks.Read our Newton Boys, The movie review »
